DOCUmation is a family-owned technology solutions company that provides IT, print, and software-managed services to business and other organizations throughout Texas. Headquartered in San Antonio, TX, our company has been serving customers for more than 30 years.

Today we are led by third-generation leadership.

We continue what Lou Scantland, founder and grandfather, started 30 years ago, to help any business become more efficient and streamlined through the implementation of technology designed to fit their individual needs. For three generations, our family’s business has operated with a steadfast commitment to serving with integrity and embodying good old-fashioned Texas values. Lou Scantland enters industry working for Thermofax, a 3M dealer.
1960 2
Lou opens ElectroCopy in Detroit, MI, becoming the first plain paper copier dealer in America.
1975 1989 4
Lou enters Texas market for the first time. Owns & operates multiple branches across Texas (Dallas/Ft. Worth, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, and El Paso).
Lou establishes Alternative Business Systems (ABS) in New Mexico – Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and Silver City.
Lou purchases Copy Distributing of San Antonio (CDSA) and merges with Xerographic Copier Systems (XCS).
Corporate name is changed to DOCUmation.
DOCUmation expands service into the Texas Hill Country.
Preston & Hunter assume leadership roles as Co-Presidents of DOCUmation.
